Belgium's Thank You Canada 2002
Tour

The OMVA would like to thank members of the
contingent from Belgium who participated in this year's
Thank You Canada 2002
Tour
events.
Not enough can be said about the
representatives. They were all friendly, with a zeal for
everything around them.
Attention
to detail on both uniforms and vehicles was exemplary.
Everybody could feel the thanks and love that they felt for
Canada and it's soldiers. Each member was fully dressed in
authentic Canadian battle dress of the Second World War
which has been unparalleled in any US or Canadian show
anywhere.
|
|
Special
thanks should also be noted Eric Booth and the Ottawa OPP
detachment. Eric provided Police escort for all convoy movements
that took place during events of the weekend and made driving safe
for all.
The
Thank You Canada 2002 Tour was an unprecedented event which saw
40 representatives with 20 vehicles sent from Belgium to travel
through parts of the United States and Canada to show their thanks
for Canada's involvement and liberation actions during the Second
World War.

A parade to the Camp-X monument from the
Oshawa airport took place with the Belgians in attendance, dressed in
Canadian uniforms of the Second World War.
